I don't have any plans to do that. <shrug>

Most BBSes including Mystic have this built into the main configuration setup. Your BBS is the first to have it separate for some reason.

    May I ask why?

Because EchoCfg's sole purpose is to modify sbbsecho.ini while SCFG's purpose is to modify ctrl/*.cnf.

Is there a reason that this cannot be integrated?

I didn't say it couldn't be, I just said I had no plans to.

For my own selfish purposes I would relish the notion of a more independent package. There is a dearth of quality Linux tossers presently. I don't need a BBS but OTOH I wouldn't balk at having a SMB base required by such a product. It's the throughput that's key to the utility.

    Cheers,
    Paul.

I'd question that. For many years, one usually had to use a separate BBS, tosser and mailer, meaning at least 3 separate configurations to maintain. Sure, more packages are all in one, but personally I don't care thatEchocfg is separate. Everything works.

Well if it was my BBS, I would most likely integrate it into the main configuration so everything would be in one place to find.

Sounds like a great idea - develop a fork of Synchronet and make
    it all your own.

You could call it "Who Wants To Be The Millionaire".

    Or just "WWTBTM" for short.

I'm not sure it really needs to be. Some sysops might not carry a FTN message network, in which case they wouldn't need to bother with sbbsecho at all anyway..

At any rate, sbbsecho and echocfg are included with Synchronet and it works. I don't think it really matters a lot if echocfg is integrated into scfg or not.

Or perhaps, since it would be a fork of Synchronet, it could be called "The Millionet". It could be pronounced the English way as it's spelled or perhaps the French way ("The Millionay").

I think the French way would be more befitting of a superb and

Good point, yes you'd generally use a TIC processor too. I did have some other configurations for other utilities in the FTN processing change like NetMgr (a general netmail rewriting utility) and Yabom (outbound manager for Binkley). On my Internet gateway, I also had GIGO and UUPC to manage. Lots of configs there. :)
