• argus says all my addresses are invalid

From mark lewis@1:3634/12.73 to all on Sun Jun 23 18:31:30 2019

why would a remote Argus system be telling me that all my addresses are invalid??? does it do a nodelist lookup or such?? i'm running the latest binkd and have even tried using the hide-aka lines to hide all my addresses from all of their addresses except my main address of 1:3634/12@fidonet... this is the only ART (Argus/Radius/Taurus) system i'm having this problem with...

I'm sorry. I don't have this area actively set to monitor any longer.

What shows in the other bloke's log? He's the odd man out.

    Cheers,
    Paul.

ok... i was hoping there were others also actively using the argus mailer... the seenbys would seem to indicate that but things aren't always as they seem ;)

What shows in the other bloke's log? He's the odd man out.

eerrgg, yeah... i'll see if i can get them to send the logs along so they can be sanitized and analyzed... i should have asked for them in the beginning but they're having some pretty serious RL things going on right now...

    [time passes]

oi vey! looks like they did something on their end... i did read something about them re-addressing the routed netmail to my 1:3634/0 instead of my 1:3634/12 but that should not have affected our connections... even weirder is that i have hidden all of my AKAs from them except for my 1:3634/12... binkd allows this with the hide-aka verb :)

    [more time passes]

well, no wonder they weren't able to deliver the mail in the first place... it was addressed to my old 1:3634/1 which hasn't existed since october 2018... geez... apparently they re-addressed the pkt/flo file to my /0 or /12...

anyway, the mail finally arrived so i guess this adventure is over for now...

    until the next time...

    [edit]
hummm... i wonder if their argus was reporting all my addresses invalid because
the non-existant one it was looking for in the address list wasn't in there? i dunno...

Kewl, yeah. I had in mind to double-check the root-domain. Shows to go, hey.
    :)

    Cheers,
    Paul.
