Even though this is not a BBS topic, I was told that this would be the best place for it. Well, not fully, A Bulletin Board System does benifit from network hubs.
I am looking for the best route, programs and documents to start my own
hub on a Windows 10 machine. Something that once set up is mostly automated.

Okay, let's start here: are you wanting to run a BBS or a standalone hub system? I'd recommend if you're not using a BBS to use binkd (the original version). I haven't used straight binkd myself as I use Internet Rex/2 but there are others here who have and do who can help.

From there, you'd need to learn how each of your networks run their
operations and set up yours likewise.

When I started Micronet from scratch, I was and am running Maximus/2 for my BBS, Internet Rex/2 for my main mail setup for BinkD/FTP connects, and
Squish/2 for my mail tosser.

Hello Gary,

Stand alone system on a Windows 10 tower using binkd.
Something to house the packets for people to poll. Something that

I use the husky software for tossing mail and files. I like it because it is open source and available for a wide range of platforms like DOS, Windows, OS/2
and linux and friends.

Just about any tosser will do what you need although they are not all supported
or registerable today.

So D'Bridge or Husky is a good stand alone softgware to do the work? It will be on a Windows 10 System and is just needed to handle the systems polling and holding all the packets. I will not be running a BBS on it.

D'Bridge has everything needed to run a Hub system on either BinkD or an old dialup modem. No external tossers or scripting or anything else needed to run
a full Fido system. It is totally menu-driven with help every step of the way.

However it is an MS-DOS application.

If your Windows 10 system is 64-bit, you need the NTVDM64 project installed to be able to run it. NTVDM64 has been discussed recently here.

As a single, standalone system like DB? No.

But what you CAN do is set up a tosser, such as Fastecho (which is still registerable) or Squish (free), and set up a dedicated mail system.

I have done so for the short times I was not actively using a BBS using
Squish and Internet Rex.

It's not difficult to do but it -is- easy to make a mistake. But you live
and learn. I've blown up my system several times learning but it's okay. :D

Okay, I set up DosBox and D'Bride. I will see if I can learn my way around it. Any advice on these two programs on a Windows 10 64 bit system would be helpful!

That's the one (tobi @ softeq.de) he used to reply to my original request. I sent a reply as per instructions. I still have the record of it on my phone where I keep some copies of email.

Original request went out Apr 7, 2019.
Message from him came April 16 requesting to send in a file.
My reply with that attached REGISTER file went out May 6.
Then crickets.

Maybe the reply (since it had an attachment) ended up in spam on his side?

Oh well..

Maybe I'll send in a gentle reminder again later.
