    Robert,

Why not give SearchLight a try with the Valence QWK mail door, which allows for both QWK hubbing as well as for tossing and scanning
    net-status QWK hubs :)

There was a Searchlight BBS in central Arkansas years ago, but it's
    long gone.

Also, I tried to email you, with the note that because of the remnants
of Hurricane Laura in my area from late Wednesday into Friday, and then
a cold front with thunderstorms into next week, I likely will be offline
for several days...yet both emails I had for you bounced. Could you please
send an email to wx4qz at arrl dot net??

    Robert,

I saw something like this. Which email address did you send it to?

I tried the winserver.org and the robertwolfe domain...and both
bounced. This last one seemed to work, though.

I survived Laura, but a strong cold front moving in, with upper level disturbances, will bring more thunderstorms Saturday night through
    next Wednesday.

I know if I had the BBS in the cloud, I wouldn't have to worry about
the downtime, but right now, I can't afford it, as I have other bills
outside the BBS to worry about.

winserver.org does have its moments when it doesnt want to receive email. however, robertwolfe.org is on a VPS, so unless they are having issues,
email should always flow through there.

*nods* Yeah, it looks like we are going to have a decent day today, so
after I take care of my birthday stuff and all today, might go out for a
ride on the 'zuki today after i put the new brakes and the u sb ports on him today (to keep my phone charged wile i use it as my GPS while riding
    *grin*).

I totally understand. I was havign my robertwolfe.org email hosted through GMail, but I did not need the $30/month bill, so i gfi found a vps provider that only charges me $6/month for what I need, so I built out my own email server and run it there. https://www.interserver.net.

I've used a GPS when I've been mobile, but I rarely travel outside
central Arkansas anymore. Have a happy birthday...and eat some cake
for the rest of us. :)

I'll take another look at it sometime this fall. I hate having to shut
    things down for inclement weather.

    Speaking of which...

    1) As we approach the hurricane season, more areas are being watched.
One area is forecast to form off the Carolinas, but move out to sea.
A second area may affect areas of the Caribbean, before going into
central America. Two other areas are in the eastern Atlantic, and it's
too early to know what their fate will be.

    2) Depending on which version of The Farmer's Almanac you like, it
could be a good or bad winter. We haven't had much of a winter in
the central Arkansas area in over 3 years, and I feel we're overdue.

It should be. I've been making posts in the ham radio and weather echoes...when I haven't had to be down for thunderstorms. Robert
Wolfe runs it...so he's the one to contact for it. However, at times, winserver.org is ornery about accepting messages -- and for that
matter, the robertwolfe.org domain is the same way.
