• OS/2 Version - change port?

From Dumas Walker@1:2320/105 to All on Sun May 3 22:04:15 2020
How do you change the port that the OS/2 version listens on? I ran the program with no command line options, which lists the options available. There does not
appear to be one for changing the port.

    Thanks!

Is there an iport keyword in your config. Mine says iport binkp and if I want to change the inbound listening port I uncomment that line and replace binkp with the port I want to use, something like this..

    iport 24560

There are many options in the sample/default binkd.cfg file. ;)

    in the config...

iport is the inbound port number or service name
oport is the outbound port number or service name

the service name, if you use it, is in the network services file for your OS and contains the port number... if you use the service name and you want to change the port used by the program, edit your services file and change the port number there... then restart your program and it should start using the new port number...

That one is not commented very well. That said, I figured it out shortly
after posting that. I started binkd and noticed "listen *:24554" in the output. Stopped it, edited the cfg file, changed that line to:

    listen *:24557

And it is now answering "calls."

    Thanks!

    Al,
I think I figured out a solution. Thanks for letting me know you had a
    copy available for FREQ!
