    Hello All.

So-far, the system has been very stable running binkd for OS/2.

I have one problem connect that I believe has something to do with the way I have him set up in the NODES.CFG file:

    node 1:106/0 im.ifidonet.com xxxxxxx
    node 1:106/201 im.ifidonet.com xxxxxxx

How do I list this in one line with the two node numbers as AKAs?

    The connect results in this:
    -o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-CUT-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-

    -o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-CUT-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-

Do I have something wrong at this end (like AKAs) or is something screwey at his end? IRex BinkP didn't have an issue with connecting.

    Thanks in advance!

    Best regards,
    Marc

    Hi Marc,

Sorry for jumping in here, but it looks like it might be on his end.

On 21 Dec 2020, 08:35p, Marc Lewis said the following...

    + 21 Dec 18:57:33 [260] addr: 1:106/201@fidonet.net (n/a or busy)
    ? 21 Dec 18:57:33 [260] called 1:106/201@fidonet, but remote has no such

It looks like his end is presenting the address of:
    1:106/201@fidonet.net

Which does not match what your system is looking for, as it's trying to contact 1:106/201@fidonet.

I think if Dale removes the .net from the address, you should be alright.

This is caused by the setup of the node on the other end. That address of 1:106/201@fidonet.net should be just 1:106/201@fidonet.

To work around it, add the following to your binkd.cfg:

    domain fidonet.net alias-for fidonet

Or compensate at your end with this line in your binkd config:

you may also want to add:

    domain fido alias-for fidonet
    domain fidonet.org alias-for fidonet

    Cheers, Michiel
