    Hello there.

My name is Andreas Zahrl from Kautzen/Austria.
I opened a small computer museum here last year.
Is a living museum so everyone can touch and use all the computers and
    consoles here.

Our homepage is https://kcm.or.at (sorry but only in german) with infos about the systems we're showing.

Newest ones are a BBC Micro and a Atari 800XL.
I am trying to repair a Dragon 64 right now witch have some problems.

It's cool to show people the history and see how they remember their times
with Amiga, Commodore 64 etc. etc.

    Regards
    Andreas Zahrl

That's really neat that you were able to do that!

For some, that might be the only experience of using some of these computers.

It would be good for a new generation to learn where it all came from.

    There's always Google Translate!

How to get that cassette tape positioned just right to load your favorite program. :)

    Hey there!
    Thanks for your reply.

Yes, it was a thing of hm surprise. I rebuilt the old cow barn in our
old Farmers Haus (built 1804) for me as a Men Cave :-).

I then setup all my computers and consoles there and whas happy to see them
all working. But then i said to myself, nice but only for me is quite selfish and sad. I have so much fun with it why don't share it with others.

So i started the idea to run a museum. When i told my wife about it, she was also up to it and so my whole family supported me. So in August 2020 we
opened to public and since then some people and families came over to see
that devices and play with them.

And the best thing is when the eyes twinkle in happiness when they see the computer they had in their youth. Remembering the games and telling that to their kids.

We're commission free and to see that is what pays me.

For some, that might be the only experience of using some of these computers.

    Yes, it is.

It would be good for a new generation to learn where it all came from.
Yes, and that's the cause i work with the schools around to show the kids how all started.

    Regards
    Andreas

Your story is awesome, Andreas. Even tho I don't speak German, I'm poking around the site and learning about your collection. Great job opening it up for the public - I really think that is top notch, Sir.

Hi, That was the pretty neat working Vintage Computer Collection I have ever seen.. Just missing the CoCo I, II, III.

If you want to see the page in English. Goto go translate.google.com and put in https://kcm.or.net Google will translate it
for you. I normally don't comment or post, but this one caught my eye. I wished we had something like that here..
