    Oddly, that's the same edition I have - given to me by my mother. I
    also have a plaid-cover, spiral-bound 1996 edition BH&G Cookbook.

    The only dead tree cookbook we keep is Andrea's mother's BH&G from the 60's. It's her goto.

    I had one of those until the black mold took over my tin can. It was in
    a loose-leaf (three-ring notebook) format. And many/most of the pages
    had reinforcements on the holes. Bv)=

    Title: Be-My-Valentine Pie
    Categories: Five, Pies, Desserts
    Yield: 6 Servings

    1 c Water
    3 oz Box Strawberry flavour Jello
    1 pt Vanilla ice cream
    1 (9") Chocolate-flavoured
    - crumb pie shell
    Hershey's chocolate kisses

    In a 4-cup glass measuring cup stir together water and
    gelatin. Cook, uncovered, on 100% power (high) for 1 1/2
    to 2 minutes.

    Add vanilla ice cream to the hot gelatin mixture,
    stirring till ice cream is melted. Chill mixture for
    25 to 30 minutes, stirring twice during chilling (the
    mixture should mound when you drop it from a spoon.

    Pour chilled ice cream mixture into pie shell. Chill for
    4 hours or till ice cream is set.

    Arrange milk chocolate kisses in a heart shape atop pie.

    Serves 8

    Sounds exactly like ours. :) We also have lots of newspaper clippings glued and stuck all over in there. (Her mother wasn't super orginized)

    Title: Pizza Tuna Melt
    Categories: Sandwiches, Lunch/box, Salmon/tuna, Sandy eggo
    Yield: 2 Sandwiches

    4 Pita breads
    4 ts Olive oil; divided
    1 cn Solid white tuna in oil;
    4 sl Mozzarella;
    4 sl Tomatoes;
    4 ts Fresh basil;
    Pepper to taste;

    Preheat over to 450 degrees. Place four pits on a large baking sheet.
    Drizzle 1/2 ts olive oil over each pita, then cover with 1/4 can of
    the tuna in oil. Put mozzarella cheese of each bread. Put a tomato
    slice on each bread. Sprinkle 1/2 ts olive oil and 1 ts basil on
    each pita. Season with pepper to taste. Bake for about 10 minutes,
    until the cheese is bubbly. Let cool for several minutes and serve.
