Quoting Dave Drum to Ruth Haffly <=-

I commonly put flour fresh in the house into the freezer for at
    least two weeks ...

This is also good advise for rice, especially imported rice in cloth
bags, and nuts, especially those purchased loose, in bulk, and not
    in airtight sealed plastic bags.

My last infiltration, a couple of decades ago before I started
freezing things, started in the basmati rice and the critters first
moved to the wheat germ, then the walnuts, then the whole wheat
flour and ignored the white flour. They may have had tiny brains
    but they knew about nutrition!
