Another way to wrap up a taco meat filling: bannock taco pops.
Frozen supermarket calzones (oven baked panzerotti) are popular
snacks in Canada. The big names here are McCain Pizza Pockets,
Pillsbury Pizza Pops and Loblaws Pizza Pouches. I imagine you all
have something similar in the US,
On Arctic Kitchen, Cindy Schaefer from Fort Smith NT described her homemade version. She started with bannock not bread dough, and used seasoned ground meat (beef, moose, deer, caribou, bison... basically
any red meat) with taco seasonings plus fried diced onion, tomato
sauce and grated cheese for the filling. It sounds good to me as
we've made and liked bannock calzones before and this is just a
change up on the seasonings.
