    Hello There,

How many dads have had a child come to them ask ask "Dad, what does formatting drive C: mean?"?

I for sure know of at least one dad. :-)

    Hello Alan,

How many dads have had a child come to them ask ask "Dad, what does
    formatting drive C: mean?"?

I've seen a tagline like that.

    Me too.

I for sure know of at least one dad. :-)

I had a daughter come to me back in the plain DOS days and ask me that question.

Wasn't the format option on right click menus at one time?
I just double checked.. ;) and all the mkfs options are in /sbin, safely out o
reach of the average user. :)

I have safeguarded any PC's usable by people other than me to prevent such occurrences.

Haven't quite figured out how to safeguard PC's from myself. :-)

    haha!!

I bought my first tape backup drive, for my first PC because of that 'evil word'!
