Open up a command prompt and go to your System32 directory and see if
this file exists... If it does run the following command:
regsvr32 MSCOMCTL.OCX
You should get a response that the registration was successful...

I can't think of what the InstallShield error is for this, but I think
it means that there was something wrong with this file in archive... Or something has the file locked and readonly so the script couldn't
install the file... See if this file exists (Its for the EXCEL
export capabilities)...

Is is possible that the MSCOMCTL.OCX problem is related to the ERROR 13, Mismatch problem I have had for a couple of years now when trying to read email and messages with wcreports?

John
Anything is possible since I have never been able to reproduce the problem... But it is really doubtful... If that were the case you
would be having quite a few other problems as well...
There is either something in your data that its not liking... Error 13 - Type mismatch is usally called by an implicit conversion of something
that wasn't expected... IE: Say something like "one" is entered in
place of "1"... Doing math on something like this would give you a Type Mismatch error...

I always thought that it might be the wcconvert program in one of the AUPs
now that you brought up the zero division I changed my mail areas settings that contained zero's to a number. Even though some of the wcconfigsettings
when set to zero usually means unlimited maybe one of those settingsrequires
a number. I'll see what happens.
Thanks again,
John Kidwell
I too am still getting the error 13 type mismatch and like John, has
been for quite a long time now.
For me it pops up when I try to open ANY message in ANY conference from
any machine on the LAN except the machine where WINS is installed.
WcReports works great on the server. I have lived with it, but it is a
pain when I have to go clear to the other end of the building just to
use WcReports on the server.
WINServer is winnt 40 wkst
Other machines are win 95 and 98SE

Actually that shouldn't be the issue... Div by 0 is a completely
different error message... Do you have any machines that wcReports
actually do run on?
Is it when you double click on the conferences, or is it when you ar
double clicking on a message?
Is it all conferences?

Is there anything different on those machines than the Server? IE: Is
the date/time set the same with the same format? Do you have the same
fonts installed? etc... Win95 I could maybe see if it didn't have the proper updates, but 98SE should have all relevant updates out of the
box...
Does this happen when you double click on a conference or when you
double click on a message in a conference?

It appears that my DLL's and OCX' are there but registering them manually would be an unexperienced task for me to perform.

I know what you mean ... but there was a message that told how to do it .. and I don't recall the exact command line
regsvr32 drive:\path\filename
If you did a regsver32 /? it should tell you the actual command line
