So..  he was looking at the images on the laptop? Or, was he using the laptop
to aide in pointing the telescope to the right spot in the sky.  I have no
idea how "computerized" telescopes work.
I don't know how they work either. No pictures on the computer. That is probably doable but you would need a way to connect the camera to the telescope and that would be non trivial.
We just used the telescope itself to view whatever we were looking at.
That would be good to be able to grab pictures from the telescope but I'm not sure what kind of gear you would need to do that.
My Bushnell Computerized Starlocator is at home now. From brief looksee of the manual, it looks like the pivot/tripod mechanism is used to "match" the numbers of the computerized part which is just a glorified index of astrological entities?  Or.. is there a motor on that thing that pivots to the exact spot on the sky. If the later, I'll probably need batteries! Ugh.
