We had a situation last night.. Aunt Gert (who is 97) decided to go for a walk around 4AM - I woke hearing lots of activity last night so I sent Ron downstairs to check on her. She had her winter coat on and was heading for the
backdoor (again).. we keep it locked but you know, it would be just our luck for her to figure out the lock this time ... geez... Glad we caught her before something bad happened.

I'm definitely in need of sleep.

Doesn't surprise me, as older people like Aunt Gert, also often suffer from it.
I think she started with Diabetes as a much younger person though...

I heard of one woman, who ate an entire birthday cake with a ton of
rich, sugar, frosting. It shot her blood sugar above 700, and she had to
be rushed to the Emergency Room.

When the doctor walked in, he condescendingly asked "Have we been a
bad girl??!!". :P

Reminds me of the time when I had to have a cardiac catheterization
done through the groin. You can NOT urinate on your back...male or
female. When the nurse came in, and asked "Did we spring a leak??", I
growled, "No, I just felt like p!$$!ng in the bed!!" :P

Along that line (I don't remember if I've told this or not, but it's
a true story)...this one ol' boy was constantly aggravated by this
nurse who always "talked down to him", as if he was a little child.
Whenever he was in, she always had to come in, and ask for a urine
specimen.

Well, either one of his friends suggested this to him, or he thought
of it himself. He ordered a small container of apple juice, and he hid
it away. When the nurse came in, she asked for the specimen, then said
"I'll step outside while you urinate in the cup". Well, unbeknownst to
her, he poured the apple juice in the cup!!

When she walked back in, she looked at the specimen cup, and groaned
"Oh!! A little dark!!". Normally, that means your urine is highly
concentrated, as if you're not drinking enough water. He grabbed it from
her, and said "That's OK, I'll run it through again!!", and promptly
swigged down the apple juice.

The nurse fainted dead away. <G>

As a diabetic, I know exactly what you are talking about. I have to resist
the urge to buy sweets. I am trying to limit myself to once a week but it
is difficult. If my blood sugar gets too high, I do get into a bit of a
"sugar fog" but that's rare for me these days.

He was selected, managed to put the urine of his girlfriend into the testing bottle of the lab. When the results came back, it had a note "Congratulations, you are pregnant".

He was barred from competition for 2 years.

The real kicker, he wasn't the father.

I have had that issue. I usually will shut down the BBS, go through and clean out the inbound and outbound directories, fire MBSE back up, and et voila! it magically starts working again.

When I was in severe pain from a combination of bladder spasms in a
urinary catheter awhile back, I was in a local Emergency Room, in tears, screaming in pain...naked on the hard table.

Finally, these two very pretty nurses came in, and said "You're not
going to like us. I sobbed "I'll kiss you if you make the pain go
away!!". They said "we have the pain medicine, but it's an oversized suppository.

They gave a whole new meaning to the term SHOVE IT!! But, it did the
trick.

And actually true.

In a more modest way the trick has been used several times but female urine has
some different hormonal components so they're now always tested for ... in male
competitions as well as female. In the former it should not be, in the latter it has to.

They're now also checking the quality of the pee because it varies depending on
the activities of the individual throughout the day.
