Weren't you going to quit Fidonet ?

Yes. However, after recently learning that I will need surgery soon to fix a life-threatening condition in my right foot (either I get the surgery soon or
I lose my right leg), I figured having something to do with the six month to one year recovery time laid up in bed after the surgery might be a good idea
    at this time.

That's all subject to change, of course.

Best wishes for the surgery and recovery... I agree having something to focus on is a good idea :)

I've been warned that the same issue will eventually happen in my left foot also but I know the signs now.

    I have ... twice! Third time's a charm.

I'd also like to take some time to learn Morse code for my amateur radio
    hobby.

I recently found an old backup of an archive of my BBS doors and utilities I thought I'd lost to the sands of time. I can go through that, clean it all
up, and release it as open source too.

I'm not looking forward to being out of commission for six months or longer
but if I can save my foot, it's worth it.

Bummer Sean... yep I've been a bit unwell lately also with some lung
infection thing that has knocked me for the last 4 weeks.. just finished the second round of antibiotics so hopefully coming right soon... being sick
    sucks.

Thank you. What is worrying me is I'm starting to have issues with my left foot though nowhere near as severe. I'm trying to fix one foot while being able to use the other...

Do you have some kind of radiating pain in that left leg? Or left foot?
