I get this also in my 64bit Ubuntu system. However, it works ok in 32bit Raspberry PI Ubuntu. Seems to be a 64bit problem, just like with jamnntpd. :(

Guess I could move the fidonet system onto a Pi or install Soupgate onto a Pi and use Samba

in the makesg file add -m32 after the gcc. You may need to apt install gcc-multilib

This seems to make it work on a 64 bit sysyem.

probably also needs the same fixes so the proper variable format/size/signness is used on 64bit...

are you kidding ?, you have precompiled 32bit elf that breaks 64bit host then

Compiling the source as is, the soupgate doesnt work on 64 bit. So forcing a 32bit compile makes it work. I am not a programmer so struggling to find the cause

maybe just some stupid 32bit only make file is the problem ?

do not make such fails if you plan to make things work, hope the developper have red ears now

ah, fair, then you must remove the options for 32bit only builds

-m32 is a bad one in a -m64 host compiler

    there is possible others
