    Hi, looking for some guidance.

    I have multiple netmail areas - almost one for each ftn network I'm connected with. (I've done this so that when I reply to netmails they have the right source address.)

    I've discovered as a result of this filefix is no longer working.

    IE: messages to areafix@<FTN> are being processed as a robot message, but messages to filefix@<FTN> are not being processed by "htick scan".

    So I set up a netmailarea robots and a "robotsarea robots" - thinking that might help - but still messages to filefix do not arrive in that message area - they still arrive in the netmail area for the FTN.

    (Messages to areafix@FTN do get sent to the robots area.)

    Any ideas why my filefix messages are not being recognised as a robot message and going to the robots area?

    Hello Deon,

    have the right source address.)

    I've discovered as a result of this filefix is no longer working.

    I had the same problem with filefix when I had more than one netmail area. I switched to just having one netmail area and that solved my problem.

    I always listed my node address first followed by my AKAs so htick always used the right source address.

    IE: messages to areafix@<FTN> are being processed as a robot message,
    but messages to filefix@<FTN> are not being processed by "htick scan".

    I suspect (but I'm not sure) that htick is looking for netmail messages to filefix in your first listed netmail area.

    I suspect (but I'm not sure) that htick is looking for netmail messages to filefix in your first listed netmail area.

    Actually, from what I've figured - htick is looking for the message in the right area (robots in my case) - but hpt is not putting filefix messages in that area. (hpt is putting the filefix message in the netmail area where non-robot messages would go).

    I have a carbon rule:

    === Cut ===
    CarbonFromArea netmail
    CarbonTo *filefix*
    CarbonMove netmail.hpt.areafix
    === Cut ===

    All messages to filefix are moved to one area which is read by htick.

    I haven't but i see two ways to go. First is the normal routing where the tosser decides which mail have to go into which netmail area.

    If that doesn't work for you then the carbon copy feature may do the job as requried.

    Hi,

    (Messages to areafix@FTN do get sent to the robots area.)
    Because of?

    What is the trigger for the destination netmail area?
    Who does the choice which one to use?

    robotsarea robots

    (where "robots" is a netmail area).

    I haven't but i see two ways to go. First is the normal routing where the tosser decides which mail have to go into which netmail area.

    Its strange that that "robotsarea" configuration doesnt appear to respond to messages designated to the robot filefix.

    If that doesn't work for you then the carbon copy feature may do the job as requried.

    I guess I could that as an option - but am I right that the "robotsarea" configuration option should catch filefix as well?

    You said something about multiple networks. So we are talking about a multizone setup. There are possible AKA definitions for netmail areas. Maybe the robot does not know that he have to handle that zone?

    This needs to be answered by somebody who can read the sourcecode. I don't know what defaults area used.

    Until then you could maximizie you loglevel. Another idea would be to perform one of the ignored ffix mails manually via the command line.
