    John,

Thanks Daryl! Arkansas makes me think of good Southern BBQ!

There are several BBQ restaurants in the area...such as Corky's
and Sim's. There is a little "hole in the wall" restaurant in
southwest Little Rock that has been in operation nearly 60 years,
called H.B's. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, their dining room
is closed, they don't have a drive thru, and they are open for
    call ahead and take-out only.

If they're open on Monday, you can get ribs on Tuesday.

    They do have a page on Facebook -- I think it's H.B.'s BBQ --
    and their BBQ is scrumptious.

    John,

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

There are 360 shopping days left, so you can buy next years Christmas
    things now. <G>

Talking about H.B's is making me hungry!

I went by there today, and ordered 10 Jumbo BBQ Pork Sandwiches,
and 2 orders of French Fries (their fryer is small, so it can only
cook 2 orders at a time). The order was $75, but I gave them a
$105 tip. I had taken $200 out of the bank...$20 for gas for the
car, and the rest I gave to them.

They are a small family run business, but right now, they're
short staffed. COVID-19 has made it worse, because they are so
small, you can't "eat in", although there are 4 picnic tables
outdoors if you want eat out there.

It has been in business nearly 60 years, and is basically "a
hole in the wall" in southwest Little Rock. I ate 2 of the BBQ
Pork sandwiches and 1 order of fries earlier. I still have 8
sandwiches and another of fries to warm in the microwave oven
(blessings on those who created that <G>). My health is so that
I can't stand for more than a minute at the sink, stove, toilet,
or in the shower, without my legs spasming, and my back throbbing,
as I have degenerative disk disease in my spinal column. I also
don't like to wait for my food...but you don't call me "late for
    dinner". <G>

    Thanks again for replying!

Glad to make sure things are working.

Ok, big question? Pulled pork? Chopped pork? Sliced pork? I'm a pulled-pork sandwich fan.

And I remember Alabama and Arkansas BBQ sauce normally has a bit of a bite? Is their sauce spicy? (I dig hotter BBQ sauce).

You're a good man Daryl Stout.

Had COVID-19 not occurred, I'd be eating in...but they're so small,
    that it's call ahead/take-out only...plus they don't have a drive thru.

Their slogan is "You Can't Beat Our Meat" (get your mind out of the
gutter, folks <G>)...their BBQ beef and pork is scrumptious. Plus, if
they're open on Monday, you can order ribs on Tuesday.

They are also so old fashioned, that they take cash only (no checks,
credit, or debit cards). It's basically a small family run business,
now nearly 60 years old. Since this is the season of giving, I felt I
should at least do something for them. Plus, bringing home the extra
food allows me to hold off on other food here, to consume when I can't
    get out.

And now I'm craving a BBQ pork sandwhich.

I grazed on 2 of them earlier, plus some french fries. Microwave
ovens are wonderful. I got zinged by a friend in one of the BBS Networks,
when I said "I can write a batchfile for the BBS, but my programming ends
at setting the clock on the microwave oven"...adding "I'll starve to
death otherwise. So, he sent a picture of a microwave oven, with a clock
on top of it...he got me good. :P

Not sure...I'd have to ask them. Some of the small pieces were a
bit tough (very few of them overall), and I just set them aside. But,
I usually prefer the sandwich instead of the "plate". This is at the
H.B.'s BBQ Restaurant. There are other BBQ places in the Little Rock
area, such as Sim's and Corky's.

And I remember Alabama and Arkansas BBQ sauce normally has a bit of a bite? Is their sauce spicy? (I dig hotter BBQ sauce).

It depends on what you order. I think they can provide the hotter sauce
upon request. I prefer stuff mild myself.

But, as the sign on the restaurant notes..."I like my butt rubbed, and
my pork pulled"...and you can take that however you want. <G>
