This is from SyncTerm running on a PC connected to my Linux based
SBBS.
The first character looks like an upper base B similar to the German character for ss.
The 2nd is a + over a - sign.

Looks like Latin-1 is not being translated to CP437. I see those two (quoted) characters ok if I convert to CP1252 in Golded... :-?
I don't know how Synchronet works with this stuff, or if the "problem" lies somewhere else.
