    hi All,

    i am triing to use GoldED under linux.
    the problem is when i try to start it just return to the prompt. when i strace it at the end it gives me some escape codes probably ANSI and then quits.

    i am sure its something obvious, but can you point me to the right direction? :)

    thanks,

    ok i've found the problem: the cfg was not found, the -Cgolded.cfg was needed

    :)

    i think that golded search for golded.conf filename (instead of golded.cfg)

    I don't see a reason why the linux version should deviate from the default golded settings. Within my outdated doc files i found

    -C<configname>
    Specifies another configuration file than the default GOLDED.CFG.

    so it could be a case sensitive file system thing. But it's more likely that it is a path issue. As far as i remember the actual working dir and then a precompiled path is used to look for the golded.cfg.

    If you have multiple golded.cfg on your system, for example in a NAS centralized multi OS installation, it could be useful to define -C to the full path to the config. At least it's location is clearly visible when you need to touch the config after years of untouched operation. ;-)

    Regards

    Kai

    You are right (at least for 1.1.4.7):

    CfgGed::CfgGed() {
    // pathes
    strcpy(goldcfg, "golded.cfg");
