HAM is for the discussion of amateur radio in all of its forms.

By your participation in this echo, you agree to the following rules:

    * Real names are required to be used in this echo. No aliases. If
your BBS software will not allow you to toggle between real name and

    * All messages must be in English. You may post a message in your native
language as long as an English translation accompanies the native
    post in the same message.

    * No blatently off-topic posts such as BBS ads, "test" messages,
    et cetera.

    * Any traffic concerning Fidonet matters, such as alleged "echo
hijackings", complaints about other echoes and their moderators,

Absolutely none of that is allowed in this echo and violators will
be dealt with swiftly. Please take such discussion to netmail or
    another appropriate echo.

    * No blatently off-topic posts such as BBS ads, "test" messages,

While the FCC allows for "test modes", that doesn't apply to ham radio echoes. :)

    Hey Sean Dennis!!! KM4UXV here!

HAM is for the discussion of amateur radio in all of its forms.

Made SEVERAL contacts on .52 this morning just doing a breakfast run
to Chick-Fil-A! Man I wish we had that kind of traffic at home!

By your participation in this echo, you agree to the following rules:

    * Real names are required to be used in this echo. No aliases. If

Jimmy Anderson - that's my real name! Not James, but Jimmy... Had an
argument with an elemetary teacher who insisted I was wrong and that
my parents just 'called' me Jimmy. Nope, lady, YOU are wrong!

    * All messages must be in English. You may post a message in your

    Si - I mean - yes - okay. :-)

    * No blatently off-topic posts such as BBS ads, "test" messages,
    et cetera.

What if it's not blatent? ;-)

    * Be civil and have a sense of humor.

That's the ONLY way I ever want to be!

    * Please don't gate this echo to USENET, a mailing list, another BBS

You got it - closest I would do is copy/paste something to StalkBook...

    Does it need CPR?

When is the next ISS pass that's visible where I am?

I intend on being much more active in this echo. I've given all of my other echoes to others save for here, CLASSIC_COMPUTER, and MUFFIN/TUB (Maximus BBS/Squish mail tosser suypport echoes; both of which I use).

I have been very busy on the air lately, especially working digital modes
like Feld Hell, FSK Hell 105, Olivia, and PSK31.

I do work a lot of SSB stuff though. :)

no... i had plans to get my license waaaay back in the '70s but couldn't get morse down well enough... discovered (very) loud music, computers, and rocketry instead... i know that things have been relaxed since then but these days i (still) just listen to the bands when i decide to fire up the radio... at this time, i have to find it, though... not sure were it has gotten off to... it is a heathkit receiver that we built... but gotta find it first... otherwise only the stuff that streams on the 'net is available...

Indy area - just north east of Indy - little town called McCordsville.

I intend on being much more active in this echo. I've given all of my other echoes to others save for here, CLASSIC_COMPUTER, and MUFFIN/TUB (Maximus BBS/Squish mail tosser suypport echoes; both of which I use).

I do work a lot of SSB stuff though. :)

I have never done anything with digital... It's been a while since I was
at a local ham meeting, but the last time I was there someone had made
a 'wire kit' with the correct sizes for a beofang to be able to connect
to a computer's sound card to use digital. I thought seriously about
making my own (it's not that big a deal - LOL - I don't have Baofang,
but our TYT HT's use that same connection).

heaven's above may have an iOS app... i forget... either way, it (and several others) are strictly satellite tracking sites... there are, of course, local apps that can be run, too... especially for HAM operators working satellites... gpredict is one or those that is ok... it is going through some updates related to radio control... it can/will turn your antenna and switch freqs on your radio when working a satellite...

i used to use the old STSPlus for ground tracks and listing sats with upcoming view chances... currently i'm using gpredict on linux in place of STSPlus but it just isn't the same...

they're good but i also want one that shows the sky view from my location with the sat's path so i will know exactly which sat i'm seeing flying over... in that end, i'm using stellarium which is an astronomy program first... but my current setup for all of these is nothing like what i had on my OS/2 system before Hurricane Florence blew through here and mucked things up :|
