The Cuban sandwich is basically a layered ham, cheese, and pork sandwich
with mustard and pickles that glue the layers together. The exact origin
of the Cuban sandwich is not certain, though Tampa, Florida, claims to
be where it originated. Another version is that the sandwich was first
made by a Taino tribe in Cuba more than 500 years ago.

Title: Grilled Cuban Sandwich

8 sl Pork loin; 1 oz each
8 sl Ham; 1 oz each
12 Dill pickle chips
8 sl Swiss cheese
4 Sandwich rolls
Dijon mustard

Prepare a wood or charcoal fire and allow it to burn to
embers. Layer each sandwich with the cheese, ham , pork,
and pickles.

Grill the sandwich, top side down for 1 minute, turn over
and place a saute pan on top and continue to cook until
cheese is melted about 3 to 4 minutes.

Yield: 4 servings
