    December 20: National French Fried Shrimp Day

    MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

    Title: Fried Shrimp
    Categories: Seafood
    Yield: 4 Servings

    2 lb Medium shrimp; peeled,
    - deveined, rinsed, patted
    - dry w/paper towels
    1 c Flour
    1 lg Egg; lightly beaten
    1 tb Butter; room temp
    1 ts Sugar
    1 ts Salt
    1/2 ts White pepper
    1 1/2 c Cooking oil

    In a bowl, combine the flour, egg, butter, sugar, salt,
    and white pepper to make a batter.

    In a skillet, heat the oil to 350ºF/175ºC.

    Dip each shrimp into the batter and drop into the hot
    oil. Fry until golden-brown, about 3 minutes.
