Is it possible to send a correct CHRS kludge with jamnntpd. My jamnntpd server always uses

but the correct one would be
☺CHRS: UTF-8 4

At present it isn't important. IIRC it relates to there being no known Fidonet
software being sensitive to that 'level' value.

There is no level 4 support in JamNNTPd. No one has bothered to fix
that. But it really doesn't matter, everything works ok even with that
"UTF-8 2" kludge.

I already assumed that most software works fine with "UTF-8 2", but I was not sure and it didn't feel right to have a non-conforming kludge in the message. But if everyone says it's fine, I can relax.

It's not JamNTTPd fault, it uses the name from the From field. In another network I'm using my nickname. Maybe I need to use separate NNTP accounts for every network / different names. But why bother, everyone can read my messages and my full name is in the pointlist ;).

Very long time when fidonet was alive in Finland, the was one guy whose nick was //Albert. He was also a point of mine. Those two first signs "//" mean a remark in a certain programming language. So I started to use the remark sign of BASIC. :)

Tommi is a common finish name. I guess it's already the long form of its given name. (Olli is also a common given name in Finland – in Germany it's mostly used as the short form of Oliver).

(Using :: was my favourite way of doing MS-DOS BATch REMark statements. Using that sequence instead stopped command.com from parsing a line of comment beyond
the REM, which it would still do.)

REM is ok too. Quickbasic and PDS by Microsoft at least accepts ' as a REM. I still have those in my OS/2 system. ;)
