    Y'all,

I just decided to access this echo for the first time as I'm confronted with an
    issue.

A Mystic-system writing netmail to a point-system royally messes-up that message and makes it effectively unroutable ...

I asked Rudi to drop me a test-netmail from his Mystic-setup at my point-address 2:292/854.1 and this is what I got ...

Has this error previously been discussed here and / or brought to the attention

I can confirm that I've seen the problem here with received in-transit Netmail to points, from Mystic systems.

I did post a message to the author on FSXnet. I did send him Netmail before.

James will see that when he's next about and no doubt respond to it. He may also lurk here too :) In any regard he's currently active developing Mystic again so I'd expect you will hear from him sooner than later vs. if this had been posted 1-2 months ago. :)

    They're just unroutable.

Maybe I shall also send him a message, it doesn't seem to me a big job to clear
    this error.

    Just some further follow-up Ward.

James has responded in fsxNet that he's applied a fix for this issue so the next alpha to be widely released will carry that amendment as will a pre-release that will see the light of day in the coming hours.

It's unlikely you will raise him at present via Fido as I don't think his BBS systems are up and running at present.

The wizzards and elflords of Fido already know ... 8-) ... thank you anyway for
    the heads-up.

I will need to thank him anyway for quick service. Quite a number of points active in Z2 and this was a serious issue.

An accidental point on a INTL isn't quite "royally messing up", Ward! :)

Its a bug that was fixed and released immediately once it was reported to me.

Seems to be routing okay despite this issue with just about everything we're currently using, so /shrug?

    INTL 2:292/854.1 2:292/140

An accidental point on a INTL isn't quite "royally messing up", Ward! :)

I beg to differ ... an INTL 2:292/854.1 is unroutable by every definition in the book. The only reason why I got it is because I am the de-facto outbound for that particular downlink. Had the message been intended for someone beyond my system it never would have gottten anywhere.

    Let's not discuss FTS/routing-101 here.

Its a bug that was fixed and released immediately once it was reported to me.

With thanks BTW for the speedy response. Was tested in the meantime and works just fine.

Again, I beg to differ, it did not route just OK. But now it does.

Merry Xmas or whatever is important to you on this day in the year.

Yes, its clearly been so much of a major issue that royally messed everything up! So much so that no one noticed it for 6 years!

    Let's not discuss FTS/routing-101 here.

We're not. We're discussing you being over dramatic by trying to turn a mole hill into a mountain. :)

Its simply enough to report it and get it fixed without all the unnecessary dramatics.

i think he meant that other systems have problems with it... mystic may handle it just fine but others may choke...
