• Local posts not going out on a point

    Hello g00r00,

I have a point setup here and since A46 2020/04/21 local posts are not going out. This may be because of the new seen-by code? Here's a log snippet.

    ----------------- MUTIL v1.12 A46 2020/04/21 Sat, Apr 25 2020 (loglevel 2)

+ Apr 25 03:45:52 Waiting for BUSY nodes
    + Apr 25 03:45:52 Scanning...
    - Apr 25 03:45:52 1 msgs from fsxNet Network Ops/Planning

I should add that these message are saved on the BBS just fine, and after mutil
runs to export these messages they are marked as sent but they are not exported
to the BOSS node, so they never go anywhere.

Hmmm I feed a point system and there isn't any issue on my BBS sending to the point on what looks to be the same version (both netmail and echomail coming from my uplink are flowing fine):

    + Apr 25 16:38:16 Importing a432982e.pkt (77:1/100 to 77:1/138)
    + Apr 25 16:38:16 Import #466 to SCICHAT
    + Apr 25 16:38:16 Export SCICHAT #466 to 77:1/138.1@scinet

I would suggest to double check that the node is configured to export, and to increase youe loglevel to 3. And also upgrade to whatever the latest version is just in case.

mutil is also tossing incoming mail without issues here. The only problem I have is scanning locally posted messages out. I have seen others posting with Mystic prealpha's also without problems from a node. I think this issue only affects points.

I have upgraded to A46 Linux64 2020/04/23 now and set loglevel to 3 and see mention in the log about "Circular SEEN-BY:". Here's a snippet..

Ahh my misunderstanding I'll look into that right away and get a new build
out within the next day. I probably forgot to apply the "point skip" logic
for the seen-by stuff when exporting, so its only doing it when tossing.

    Thanks for letting me know.

And an OS/2 version of that update, too? :)

this is an instance where points can be confusing...

if a point adds its 2D to the seenby and path, the boss should detect this and skip CPD while not adding its own 2D since they are the same as the points'...

if a point does not add its 2D to the seenby and path, the boss will likely skip or pass CPD and add its own 2D since it doesn't exist in the message...
