• 1000h1006h codes showing at key prompt

From Karloch@1:103/705 to All on Sun May 31 02:05:45 2020
    Hi all!

After some updates to the latest CVS version, last one done about 90 minutes since this message, Synchronet is showing the TELNET client at my MSX the codes 1000h1006h at key prompts like "Hit a key" or "YES NO". You can see what I am talking about here (1) and here (2).

If I connect to vert.synchro.net I can se the very same. The codes are not showing in SyncTERM or Windows Telnet client. What could they be? I am in contact with MSX telnet client developers and they tell me that the code is not part of the TELNET protocol.

The problem didn't happen in previous Synchronet versions.

    Regards,
    Carlos

They're mouse tracking enablement sequences: https://invisible-island.net/xterm/ctlseqs/ctlseqs.pdf

No, it's a terminal control sequence (beginning with ESC[, like all the others).

The problem didn't happen in previous Synchronet versions.

It's a problem with the terminal program. It's supposed to ignore (not display) unrecognized escape sequences.

    Hi digitalman!

They're mouse tracking enablement sequences: https://invisible-island.net/xterm/ctlseqs/ctlseqs.pdf

Oh, I was really wondering where these codes came from. Thanks for clarifying :)

Is it possible to disable these control sequences from Synchronet? I am also having some troubles with SyncTERM when I try to copy/paste text from the terminal, as the mouse click is now the same as key press.

    Regards,
    Carlos

    Not currently.

Alt-B (scrollback) works for copying text. I'm trying to convince Deuce to allow Shift-mouse-select to always copying the text (ala PuTTY).

    Not currently.

I have told the issue to the MSX telnet client devs and they fixed the display of the unknown escape sequence, so the code is not showing up anymore on MSX computers :)

Thank you for the great support!
