Hi all - is anyone running VGA Planets, and if so, what are you using for your door/game manager?

I tried using " VGAP BBS DOOR INTERFACE - VERSION 1.50 " but no matter what I try I can't seem to get it to open unless I run it locally. I have the fossil driver enabled, but again, nothing is loading (when a user tries to access the door it just flashes for a second and exits with no error shown).

If anyone is running this properly would appreciate your advice and/or setup configs. Thanks!

So it seems the problem with the door was the "runtime 200" error caused by the bug in older verisons of Turbo Pascal and Borland Pascal compilers. I didn't think this was the case, since I could run the door in local mode, but after examine errors it seems the "runtime 200" error was indeed thrown when loading door passing doorfile information to it. Strange it didn't happen when running in pure local mode, and only when passing the door info...

At any rate, the fix for anyone interested was:

-uncompress the VGAPLANE.EXE file included with the door manager. I used "UNP" -use PatchCRT by Kennedy Software to patch VGAPLANE.EXE

Voila - after doing so you can modify the included "bbsload.bat" appropriately, and it will then load properly through SynchroNet. I'm using the following command line in batch file:

    VGAPLANE.EXE /D /F

(/d is for door.sys dropfile, and /f is to enable fossil driver)

Hi all - is anyone running VGA Planets, and if so, what are you using
    for your door/game manager?

I'm using the S.T.U.P.I.D. (Simply The Ultimate Planets Interface Door) program for it. But, I had to set it up with a batchfile in SCFG.

    @echo off
    c:
REM Used to deal with RTE 200 errors; PATCHCRT will do just as well
    CD\DOSFIX
    TP7P5FIX
REM Used to make ANSI show up...different than the original ANSI.SYS driver CD\ANSI
    ANSI
    REM Switches to the directory
    cd\sbbs\xtrn\vgaplant\vgadoor
REM door name, and the node set for 1 (only 1 user can use it at a time)
REM I use the DORINFO1.DEF dropfile
    vp-door -n1
REM This is what I use for my door usage, from Shining Star Software cd\sbbs\xtrn\fury
    Fury "VGA Planets" C:\SBBS\XTRN\VGAPLANT\VGADOOR\DORINFO1.DEF

If you want the config file for it, I can post it in a later message.

Unfortunately, I don't think the S.T.U.P.I.D. door can be registered
anymore. However, there is a public key generator available on the
Shining Star Software website to generate keys, since Nannette Thacker
    stopped development several years ago.

Thanks for all your info, appreciated. I had a look at the Shining Star Sofware website, and although I saw the registration info for "door fury" (that stats program you're using) I couldn't find anything related to S.T.U.P.I.D. - would you mind linking me the key generator for that?

    Thanks again!

im also looking for a way to register nuke wars as it was discontinued in 1993 by End Of Time software. Without it, you cant use the propaganda option which is a cool part of the game. Thanks.

I'm not sure where the key generator for the S.T.U.P.I.D. door would
be...and I think the door is abandonware.
