• SBBS FTP Server

From Lupine Furmen@1:103/705 to Digital Man on Sat Dec 19 18:30:40 2020
Hey DM, how can I make it so that people can connect to my FTP server without having to use a login? I can not find anyplace in the configs for allowing annonymous FTP.

Having a 'guest' account allows anonymous FTP. http://wiki.synchro.net/server:ftp#anonymous_logins

I DO have a guest account, but it's still wanting people to login with an account when they go to the FTP server.

No, they don't need an account, they need to type "anonymous" for the user-id and (traditionally) their email address (or anything else) for the password. This is how anonymous-FTP works; it is not a Synchronet-specific thing.

Ok, was wondering because when I log into the FTP servers on my mystic boards it does not ask for any kind of sign-in, it just goes directly to the file/folder listing.

    That's not how anonymous-FTP normally works. https://www.webopedia.com/definitions/anonymous-ftp/
