From Adam@1:103/705 to All on Mon Feb 1 14:20:39 2021
Is there a .doc for the Bullseye Bulletins on how they work? The Wiki is blank and I am coming up with nothing on Google.

    Thanks!

    It's pretty easy.

/sbbs/text/bullseye.asc is the file that is displayed when you first start the program.

bullseye.cfg is just the file that is displayed when a number if selected, 0 indexed. The first line is 0 because there's no 0 option.

    Mine looks like

    0
    ../text/newuser.asc
    ../text/access.msg
    ../text/sbbs.msg
    ../docs/dove-net.txt
    ../docs/fidonet.txt
    ../text/system.msg

So these are options 1-6 on my BBS. If I wanted to add an option 7 then I'd edit the .asc file and then add an entry.

Thank you!! Do you have any suggestions on editing the .asc files? They aren't exactly opening correctly in pablo or acid for me. I've been editing the others in notepad++ and counting spaces and copying and pasting the escape characters. I have a good mind to add your reply to the wiki. Short and exactly what I needed!

I know that there are color codes and all sorts of other stuff I can stick in there.

    Have a great day,
    -Adam

It'll open perfectly fine in Pablo if you open it as a "Synchronet Ctrl-A" file.

Been using Visual Studio Code (VS Code) for the vast majority of
all text editing lately. There's an option to set a column
marker. I have one at 80 columns and another at 120 in my
    default profile.

You may want to just use pablo, save without clear, then use
ans2msg to convert that to the .asc format.

PabloDraw support saving directly to Synchronet Ctrl-A format (.msg or .asc). No conversion necessary: https://wiki.synchro.net/resource:ansi_editors#pablodraw

Thank you for the tips! I'll dig more into it this weekend when I get a minute to dedicate to relearning this stuff!
