• gating email question

From Hemo@1:103/705 to All on Tue Jun 8 15:00:07 2021
I've setup fetchmail on Ubuntu linux to retreive emails from a Gmail server with thehopes of being able to gate those into a conference.

The SBBS SMTP server is not allowing me to connect and send email, I get the following error:
    SMTP error: 550 Insufficient access

I am able to import emails to users, but it sounds like I need to open permissions for the desired conference to allow the smtp server to post to a conference area?

I don't want to allow anyone to post, so I have posting requirements of level 90. I noticed my RSS feeds import to conferences with those requirements, but it sounds like smtp/mail is a little different?

I think this wiki page has the asnwer you seek: http://wiki.synchro.net/module:listgate

    Read the section on "Configuration".

I'm not saying you have to use the listgate module, just follow the suggestion there with regards to teh posting requirements of the sub-board.

Bingo. Thank you. I came at this from the other direction, from email: http://wiki.synchro.net/config:alias.cfg

I was considering I needed to allow USER=0 in the posting requirements, and needing to edit settings for level 0 security level would have likely been the next thing I'd get stuck on.
